State Registration for Soliciting Contributions: Any nonprofit that conducts a charitable solicitation within the borders of a state, by any means, is subject to its law and is therefore required to register.

Remember do not attempt to operate and solicit donations until we register your organization with your State and obtain your “solicitation license.” The completed State registration package with disclosure requirements will be mailed along with the Federal 501(c)(3) application.

In general, an organization must file its exemption application within 27 months from the end of the month in which it was formed. If it does so, it may be recognized as exempt back to the date of formation. IRS 501(c)(3) Form 1023 application Fee

The organization will need to pay an I.R.S. application fee. The amount of the fee depends on the applying organization's average annual gross receipts. (past or projected)
